Pizza Hut Project

A Case Study part of Google Certification Course
My very first Project
PIZZA HUT.png

   Project Duration:
 October 2021 - January 2022

My Role:
UX Designer - This project was solely done by myself from start to finish.

Responsibilities:
I was responsible for undertaking interviews, doing research, creating paper and digital wireframes, high and low-fidelity mock-ups and prototyping in Figma.  Also, I conducted usability study to test my product with target users and iterated on the feedback gathered after the study.

The Product........

Pizza Hut is a fast food brand best known for its pizzas.
The Mobile App offers its customers a more convenient way to
place orders.  Main target audience is families.

The Project.......

The course project was to design a mobile app for a
Restaurant in my local area.  I chose Pizza Hut as I not only  love pizzas, but wanted my first project to be something I can relate too as well as be an exciting project to work on.  I really enjoyed every moment of it.

The Problem........

The Goal.......

Most people live very busy lifestyles and for some takeout is more of an easier option as its more convenient after a busy day.  Most of us would love to order food online through an app but the problem is that not everyone is tech savvy.  Some people also suffer with some sort of dyslexia and therefore ordering food in this way can be a bit of struggle for them especially if they come across a app which is hard to use or understand.
Using Mobile Phone
Therefore my goal is to create an easy to use app which will enable every type of user to be able to order food in the most simplest way without any difficulties.

The Research.......

User Research Pain Points

1

TIME

People are too busy working. No time to meal prep.

2

LEARNING DIFFICULTIES

3

ACCESSIBILITY

Some app platforms can be hard to use or understand especially for people with learning difficulties or for people who may not be that tech savvy this can be a problem.

Some apps don't have any speech recognition built in within the app like for example a microphone button in the search box to enable users who cannot spell to search for items easily.

PERSONA - A Case study for Google Certificate Course

" I live a very hectic lifestyle working long hours. I suffer with Dyslexia and on my days off I want to be able to relax & spend quality time with my kids whilst my wife is working.  Ordering a takeout would be great! But this can be difficult for me to do on certain sites."

Spend quality time with my kids

TYLER JACKSON

To make days of less hectic and not worry about cooking
Not having any sort of voice recognition in the the search box on certain apps
Having to search for items
Certain food apps I want to order from but I cannot because I can't find items easily or app is to difficult to use
Being Dyslexic and not being able to spell
Be able to order food online with no problems
Easily find items on sites

User Journey Map

Mapping Tyler's user Journey.  It helped identify how having voice recognition like an microphone icon within the apps search box would really help users like Tyler.  Users would have the option to search for items easily without having to scroll through every item to find what it is they are looking for.
Goal: Find a easy to use food ordering app with voice recognition to search for items as he suffers with dyslexia. Days off work he wants to spend quality time with his kids and cooking is the last thing he wants to be doing.
